How to choose

Pick the proportion first, then the style.

On a small building, getting the size right matters more than anything else. Start with the roof, then choose the look you like. All three styles fit a shed, garage, or coop. The style is your taste, not a rule.

  • Size it to the roof, not the ground

Cupolas look big on the ground and small on the roof. For sheds and garages, 24 to 36 inches is the usual range. As a starting point, allow roughly 1 inch of cupola base width for every foot of building width, then round to the nearest catalog size. The goal is a finished roofline that does not look top-heavy. Preview it on your photo to settle it before you order.

  • Then pick the style you like

Classic is clean louvered panels at the lowest starting price. Select adds fuller trim for a little more detail. Signature uses window panels for a refined, residential look. Same sizes across all three, so the style is purely your taste and budget.

  • Ventilation is a bonus here, not the point

On a small building, the look does most of the work. If you do want airflow, Classic and Select use louvered panels that let hot air out. Signature window panels are decorative and do not vent. So choose louvered for a little airflow, or Signature if you just want the windowed look.
